Cockrill Middle School Honors Band Named National Winner

The Foundation of Music Education has announced the results of the Mark of Excellence/National Wind Band Honors Contest and we are proud to announce that the Cockrill Middle School Honors Band was named a NATIONAL WINNER!  CMS is one of only 19 middle school bands across the nation to receive this incredible recognition. This marks the third time the Cockrill MS Honors Band has been selected as a National Winner in the school’s short history. The recordings that were submitted were “Summer Dances” by Brian Balmages, and “They’re Off” by Jewell/Glover. The Cockrill Middle School Honors Band was also named a TMEA CCC State Honor Band Finalist over the summer, finishing 10th out of over 250 CCC middle schools bands.

Congratulations to the Cockrill Middle School Honors Band 2014-15 students and their directors Gary Williams, Ken Moses, Matt Harp and Michael Reed on an incredible year!
