Ovet Reynoso, a McKinney Boyd High School graduate from the Class of 2017, while enrolled in AP Art 2D Design Digital/Photo his senior year, earned national recognition in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards of 2017, receiving a Gold Medal award for his image Winter Bloom. Ovet has been identified by panels of creative professionals as one of the most talented young artists and writers in the nation. More than 330,000 works of art and writing were submitted to this year’s competition, with less than 1% receiving national-level recognition. Additionally, Ovet was invited to attend the annual awards ceremony held on Thursday, June 8, at the world-famous Carnegie Hall. As a national gold medalist, Ovet is in the top .05% of entries, and his artwork will be part of the national traveling exhibit that begins in New York.
